Saving Image
You can save the image opened in the viewer as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, or GIF, with the desired compression type and additional options (JPEG quality and subsampling, rotation, mirroring).
To save image:
- Open Save As dialog box:
Viewer menu: File/Save As... Viewer shortcut key: Ctrl+S - Enter new filename.
- Select image file type.
- Choose compression and additional options (rotation, mirroring, JPEG quality). To show them, click the Options button.
- Click the Save button.
Tips and tricks:
- The extension you type decides the format: MyImage.jpg is saved as JPEG whatever file type is selected. Without an extension, PictView adds the one of the selected file type.
- Saving an image with transparency in a format without it (JPEG, BMP) asks first, because the transparent parts are merged with the background.
